[origin: WO2010051979A1] The invention proposes a vehicle display system and a method for calibrating a vehicle display system, wherein the vehicle display system has a display device and an optical system for generating a virtual image for a user, wherein, in order to display the virtual image with reduced distortion after running through the optical system, the image information is distorted using a correction means, wherein the optical system has at least one element which can be adjusted in order to change the position of the virtual image, wherein the distortion is provided as a function of the adjustment of the adjustable element, and wherein the vehicle display system has a memory device for storing correction data which determines the distortion of the correction means as a function of the selected adjustment of the adjustable element.
