[origin: WO2010054912A1] The invention relates to a hydrocyclone for cleaning a fibre suspension (1) with a chamber (11) of circular cross section, into which an inlet (4) and an outlet (5) for lightweight fractions open at one end, and a separator (6) for heavyweight fractions at the opposite end. Short-circuit flows between the inlet (4) and the outlet (5) for lightweight fractions should be prevented by virtue of the diameter of the chamber (11) being greater in a guide section (8) between the inlet (4) and the separator (6) than at the inlet (4).
