[origin: WO2010054999A1] The invention relates to a method for compensating for an unbalance on cup-shaped rotors of electric machines, wherein at least one compensating weight is fastened to a cup wall of the rotor. The fastening is undertaken by means of resistance projection welding. Furthermore, the invention relates to a compensating weight (4) for unbalance compensation (U) on cup-shaped rotors (1) of electric machines, wherein the compensating weight (4) can be fastened to a cup wall of the rotor (1). In this case, the compensating weight (4) has at least one resistance welding projection (8).
