[origin: WO2010057989A1] The invention relates to paper machine clothing, in particular press felt for a paper, cardboard or tissue machine, comprising a load-absorbing base structure that extends in the longitudinal and lateral direction of the clothing and encompassing the same, said base structure comprising in particular a) a longitudinal stiffening module that substantially provides for the dimensional stability in the longitudinal direction of the clothing and (12) b) a lateral stiffening module (1) that substantially provides for the dimensional stability in the lateral direction of the clothing, said lateral stiffening module being disposed on the longitudinal stiffening module and connected thereto. The invention is characterized in that the lateral stiffening module (1) is a warp-knitted fabric (2) that is comprised of at least one system of warp threads (3) disposed parallel to one another and at least one system of sewing threads (4, 5) running substantially perpendicular thereto that form meshes (6, 7), in which the warp threads are integrated to form a flat textile structure, wherein the warp threads (3) extend perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the clothing and have a greater bending stiffness than the sewing threads (4, 5).
