[origin: EP2363281A1] The machine has an articulated unitary plastic bag gripping device (4) comprising automatic vertical sliding and horizontal displacement units for successively carrying out two translation movements along directions parallel and perpendicular to a stacking direction of plastic bags (3) on support rods, respectively. A front sheet of each bag is plated by suction against a gripping assembly of the device during the movement along the direction parallel to the stacking direction. The front sheet is separated from a rear sheet of the bag to open the bag and to pull the front sheet from the rods. The front sheet is separated from the rear sheet during the translation movement along the direction perpendicular to the stacking direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatically lining walls of packing boxes with plastic bags.
