Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010063980A1] The invention relates to a method for producing an intermediate material from a lignocellulosic first material intended for ethanol production, characterized in that the method involves defibrating said first material in an extruder at a temperature of 600°C to 1800°C in the presence of an amount of water representing 200% to 450% of the mass of said first material, and preferably in the presence of a slightly concentrated strong acid or strong base. The invention also relates to the intermediate material obtainable by said method, and to the use thereof for ethanol production.
