The expansion joint strip has a towering bracket (10) that is provided with a layer (14) of foamed plastic and air-permeable water resistant layer (16) of plastic fiber fleece provided on a side. A base (12) is provided with passages (17), which are arranged over the length of the expansion joint strip distributed in base. The layers of the towering bracket are made of polyethylene.
