Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2010066224A2] The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for applying a UV print varnish onto a moving web- or sheet-shaped print substrate freshly printed in a flatbed rotary printing press (offset). A plurality of spray nozzles continuously spray a spray mist comprising UV print varnish onto the printed first form and/or second form print. In order to guide the spray jet, guide plates are provided over the entire width of the print substrate. Larger UV print varnish droplets (interfering droplets) that accumulated on the insides of the two guide plates are picked up from there by a UV print varnish droplet collection device and transferred to a UV print varnish droplet removal device. Said device then removes the collected UV print varnish droplets (interfering droplets).
