Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010072187A2] In at least one embodiment of the optoelectronic semiconductor chip (1), said chip comprises a semiconductor layer sequence (2) having at least one active layer (3), which is equipped to generate electromagnetic radiation. The optoelectronic semiconductor chip (1) further comprises decoupling structures (4), which are applied at least indirectly onto a radiation penetration surface (20) of the semiconductor layer sequence (2). A material of the decoupling structures (4) differs from a material of the semiconductor layer sequence (2). The refractive indices of the materials of the decoupling structures (4) and of the semiconductor layer sequence (2) deviate from each other by no more than 30%. In addition, facets (40) of the decoupling structures (4) comprise an overall surface, which carries at least 30% of the surface area of the radiation penetration surface (20).
