[origin: WO2010149372A1] The invention relates to a kitchen slicer (100; 200; 300), comprising a slicer frame (1) having a feed plate (2; 2'), a discharge plate (3) and a horizontal blade (4) with at least one cutting edge (5), which is arranged at the discharge plate (3) at the transition point to the feed plate (2; 2'), wherein the upper side of the feed plate (2; 2') is lowered or can be lowered with respect to the level of the cutting edge (5) by a predetermined cutting width, further comprising first vertical blades (17; 17'), which can be adjusted by way of an adjustment mechanism (14; 14') into a position protruding over the feed plate (2; 2'), or into a position retracted into the feed plate (2; 2'), and which are arranged so as to be movable between the retracted position and the working position substantially linearly vertical to the upper side of the feed plate (2; 2'), and comprising an operating element (15) for actuating the adjustment mechanism (14; 14'). It is provided for the operating element (15) to be arranged underneath the feed plate (2; 2').
