Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010060893A1] A fuel injection device for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is provided, said device comprising an air flow path (18) for feeding combustion air, said path having flow channels (17) leading to the individual cylinders (11), the flow channels being separated from one another at the ends, and comprising a dual injection system with a first group of fuel injection valves (19) that inject fuel directly into each cylinder (11) and with a second group of fuel injection valves (20) that inject fuel into the flow channels (17).  To reduce the manufacturing costs for the fuel injection device, with concomitant weight reduction and system simplification, the fuel injection valves (20) of the second group are designed as multi-stream injection valves (26, 27) that spray at least two separate fuel streams (24, 25) at the same time, and the valves are disposed in the air flow path (18) such that the sprayed fuel streams (24, 25) enter different flow channels (17).
