[origin: WO2010070019A1] The invention relates to a very wideband open guide multidirectional antenna operating in a selected frequency range, characterised in that the antenna comprises at least the following elements: a first metal plate (1) having a length L1 and a width I1 with a surface S1; a second metal plate (2) having a length L2 and a width I2 with a surface S2; the two plates (1, 2) being separated by a gap E; a wideband excitation means (3, 5) having an outer surface and a profile adapted for generating a linear, vertical polarisation electric field between the two plates (1, 2) by means of a signal applied at an excitation point (4) of said antenna, wherein the electric field thus generated propagates within a guiding structure formed by the upper plate (1), the lower plate (2), and the wideband excitation means (3, 5).
