[origin: EP2371722A1] A package (100, 200, 300) for enclosing a food product is provided. The package comprises a hollow body (110, 210, 310) of a packaging laminate extending from a closed bottom end (112, 212, 312) towards an upper end (114, 214, 314), and a top portion (120, 220, 320) of a polymeric material being connected along its periphery to said upper end (112, 212, 312) of said hollow body (110, 210, 310) for closing said package (100, 200, 300), wherein said periphery of said top portion (120, 220, 320) is defining a planar shape having an hourglass shape.
