[origin: EP2373063A1] The method involves adjusting a direction parameter for defining a directional characteristic of a microphone arrangement (14) of a hearing device (12), and providing a stability condition for a feedback-free operation of the hearing device as a function of the direction parameter. A value of the direction parameter is determined based a frequency of a signal, when the stability condition is satisfied, and possible values for the direction parameter is limited in an operation of the hearing device on the determined values. An independent claim is also included for a hearing device including a microphones arrangement.
