[origin: EP2374924A2] The method involves detecting a position signal from rotational position of a charging port (4) of a drum (2), and detecting an imbalance signal indicating imbalance of the drum, where the imbalance signal represents a time course of torque and/or rotational speed of the drum. A phase difference between the position signal and the imbalance signal is determined. The imbalance of the drum is recognized for the charging port of the drum if the phase difference between the position signal and the imbalance signal lies in a predetermined area. An independent claim is also included for a laundry treatment apparatus comprising a controller.
