[origin: WO2010077192A1] Methods and apparatus are disclosed for reporting downlink signal measurement information in a wireless communication system utilizing coordinated multipoint transmission from two or more subcells in each of a plurality of cells. The method comprises monitoring signal quality metrics for a first set of downlink signals comprising at least a first common channel signal transmitted from two or more subcells of a neighbor cell, evaluation of the monitored signal quality metrics, with respect to one or more predetermined criterion, and the selective increasing of a measurement rate, an event evaluation rate, or both, for at least a first subcell-specific signal from the neighbor cell, based on the evaluation.
