Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2277763A1] The vehicle has a feeding device intermittently feeding an alternating voltage to an induction loop (1) such that the loop is supplied with alternating current with periodic interruptions. A time period of the interruption of the feeding process is longer than a time period of the feeding process taken place before the interruption. The feeding device includes a connector to connect the device to an energy source and electronic switching devices. A secondary current loop is formed by wheels (115a-115d, 116a-116d), sections of rails (101, 102) and an electrical connection between the wheels. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a rail vehicle for ensuring a low-resistive electrical connection between wheels of a rail vehicle and rails.
