The device has a rod magazine (20) movable along a rod magazine channel (24) that runs laterally adjacent to a drilling rig (10). A skidding channel is designed as the magazine channel, where the movement of the magazine is synchronized with movement of the rig. A vertical lift has two handles for engagement into the magazine and for accommodating a drilling rod (16). A rod handling device is movable along a handling device channel transverse to the magazine channel. A handling device channel element i.e. rail, is movable with the magazine and designed as a section of the device channel. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for handling a drilling rod.

Es werden zwei Varianten einer Vorrichtung zur Handhabung von Bohrgestänge (16, 18) angegeben, die jeweils zumindest ein entlang eines Gestängemagazinwegs (24) verschiebbar oder auf sonst geeignete Weise bewegliches Gestängemagazin (20, 22) - also ein verschiebbares/bewegliches Gestängelager - umfassen. Sodann werden ein Verfahren zum Betrieb der jeweiligen Vorrichtung und eine Verwendung von Mitteln zum Verschieben/Bewegen des Gestängelagers angegeben.
