Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2010086171A1] The invention relates to a screw cap (1) having a safety ring (2) for sealing an opening of a container, wherein the screw cap (1) is connected to the safety ring (2) by breakable bridge elements (4) and the safety ring (2) has detent means that are used to engage on a bead at the opening of the container. When the screw cap (1) is first unscrewed, the bridge elements break and the screw cap (1) and safety ring (2) are separated from one another. A safety seal is provided on the screw cap (1) and safety ring (2) and is damaged upon unscrewing it for the first time. The invention also relates to a method for applying the safety seal to the screw cap, separately from the filling and sealing process of the container.
