Zinc-aluminum alloy comprises (in %): aluminum (10 to less than 25), copper (0.05-3), magnesium (0.001-0.1), manganese (0.05-1), silicon (0.05-1), and zinc (which is balanced to 100). An independent claimS is also included for a wire formed by the alloy.
