[origin: WO2010079355A2] A slotted drain is disclosed. In one embodiment, a slotted drain ( 10) is disclosed which comprises: an elongate drain pipe (12) having a drainage slot (14) extending in a direction along a length of the pipe and an adjustable height throat assembly (16) coupled to the drain pipe and which provides access for fluid into the drain pipe through the slot. The adjustable height throat assembly comprises a first throat section (18) coupled to the drain pipe, and at least one further throat section (20) which is movably mounted relative to the first throat section, to facilitate adjustment of a height and angular inclination of the throat assembly relative to the drain pipe. The slotted drain also comprises at least one securing arrangement (22) for releasably securing the further throat section against movement relative to the first throat section, so that the height and angular inclination of the throat assembly relative to the drain pipe can be fixed.
