[origin: WO2010079195A1] The invention relates to a method for installing a useful electronic application, in particular a ticket and/or payment application, on a mobile terminal (3), which communicates with a remote station (1) over a non-contact communication interface to execute the useful application and which can also communicate with a communication network over a wireless communication connection. According to the method, information about the useful application is made retrievable to a user on the mobile terminal (3) over the non-contact communication interface between the mobile terminal (3) and the remote station (1), wherein the information is retrieved over the wireless communication connection. The user can agree to the installation of the useful application through the mobile terminal (3) based on the provided information, wherein if the user agrees, a message is sent to a central computer (4) in the communication network over the wireless communication connection. After the message is received in the central computer (4), the user can initiate the loading of an application code onto the mobile terminal (3). In addition to the loading of the application code, a personalization data record for the useful application is transmitted to the mobile terminal (3) over the wireless communication connection, whereupon the useful application is installed on the mobile terminal (3) based on the application code.
