The device (2) has an optical detection device arranged in a tunnel (8) for detecting an identifier identifying goods (3), which are conveyed in a transportation direction by a transport device (7). The transport device is partially covered by the tunnel. A scanner i.e. bar code reader, reads the goods identifier for a data processing mechanism. The optical detection device is formed as a controller detection device (9) that detects control of number of goods, where the controlled goods are smaller than the number of goods detected by a goods detecting device (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting goods.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Erfassen von Waren mit einem Tunnel, in dem eine optische Erfassungseinrichtung zur Erfassung einer die Ware identifizierenden Kennung angeordnet ist und der zumindest teilweise eine Transporteinrichtung überdeckt, mittels derer die Waren in Transportrichtung förderbar sind, wobei dem Tunnel eine durch einen Kunden zu bedienende Warenerfassungseinrichtung zugeordnet ist enthaltend einen Scanner, mittels dessen die Kennungen der Waren für eine Datenverarbeitungseinrichtung einlesbar sind, und dass die in dem Tunnel angeordnete optische Erkennungseinrichtung als eine optische Kontrollerfassungseinrichtung ausgebildet ist, mittels derer eine im Vergleich zur Anzahl der durch die Warenerfassungseinrichtung erfassten Waren geringere Kontrollanzahl von Waren erfasst werden.
