[origin: EP2388413A2] The profile cylinder key has a key grip and a key shaft outgoing from the key grip. The cross-section of the key grip is considered to be near consistent over the length of the key shaft. An extension piece (15) is provided at a key tip in a fixed manner. The extension piece is made of a material which is different or similar to the material of the key shaft. An independent claim is also included for an assembly of a profile cylinder key and an associated profile cylinder.
