Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2390578A1] The hob (1) has an optical display device whose a display region is arranged near a hotplate (4), where the hotplate is made of glass ceramic materials. The display region is formed by a light-transparent filler material (5) i.e. silicone sealant. The filler material is illuminated by a light source (10) i.e. LED, of the display device, where the light source is arranged below the hotplate. The filler material seals a free space (8) between the hotplate and an edge (9) of a work plate (2) in which the hob is installed.
