Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2467384A] Size-adjustable footwear includes a body 11 in which first and second insoles 18, 19 are received, the insoles 18, 19 being nested together and one upon another and extending to generally cover the length and width of the sole 13 of the footwear body 11. A first insole 18 has a re-entrant section for partially enclosing at least part of the periphery of the forefoot and includes a first toe cap (43), and lateral and medial flanges integral with the first toe cap (43). The second upper insole 19 includes a reentrantly shaped second toe cap (25) and a heel cup (55) in which a first longitudinal dimension between the heel cup (55) and the second toe cap (25) defines a first size and a second longitudinal dimension between the body heel and the first toe cap (43) defines a second size greater than the first size. A user may select footwear based on the smaller first size, and then remove the insoles to accommodate growth of the feet. The insoles are moulded from a resilient self-supporting material such as polyethylene foam.
