[origin: WO2010086001A1] The invention relates to a method and to a device for opening a bag (1) to be filled and comprising at least two chambers (2, 3) having different geometries, sealingly separated from each other by means of at least one inner seam (6) and connected to each another. In order to achieve that bags and the differently sized chambers thereof can be reliably opened and closed, the invention proposes that at least one inner gripping element (10) engages at the inner seam (6), wherein one outer gripping element (11, 12) each engages an edge area (7, 8) in a starting position (21), wherein at least two of the gripping elements (10, 11, 12) are displaced relative to a fixed (10, 11, 12) gripping element into a respective end position (13, 14), wherein the displacement paths (15, 16) of the relatively displaceable gripping elements (10, 11, 12) comprise different magnitudes.
