[origin: WO2010086234A1] The invention relates to a drying device (1) for drying a material web (100), in particular a web of paper, cardboard or tissue, which has a top side (101) and a bottom side (102). The drying device (1) comprises at least a first drying section (2) and a second drying section (3), the first drying section (2) extending essentially straight and comprising a first impact flow cover (4) for directly subjecting the top side (101) of the material web (100) to hot drying medium. A first drying screen (20) for guiding the material web (100) through the first drying section (2) is assigned to the bottom side (102) of the material web (100). The second drying section (3) comprises a second impact flow cover (8) for directly subjecting the bottom side (102) of the material web (100) to hot drying medium, wherein a second drying screen (22) for guiding the material web (100) through the second drying section (3) is assigned to the top side (101) of the material web (100) and the second drying screen (22) is guided over at least one support surface (103). The drying device (1) according to the invention is characterized in that the at least one support surface (103) is configured in an air-permeable manner with only few pulsations.
