Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2392222A1] The apparatus (1) has a winding body (3) for winding a hair strand. A winding body drive unit e.g. gear motor, rotatably drives the body around its longitudinal axis. A hair drive unit (7') i.e. grip, drives the strand on the body. An actuating unit (10) i.e. control button, rotatably actuates the body to allow a user to choose one rotation direction among two rotation directions. A control unit i.e. CPU, is programmed for controlling the body drive unit in reverse direction of the chosen direction when the control unit detects an operating state to cause the stopping of rotation of the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for curling a hair strand.
