[origin: WO2010089139A1] The invention relates to a device for measuring deformations of an elastic, elongated carrier structure, comprising at least one optically detectable marking at a first longitudinal position along the elongated carrier structure, and at least on electronic camera having an objective and a matrix sensor. The objective of the camera is aligned toward the at least one optically detectable marking, such that the marking is depicted on the matrix sensor and the camera faces the marking in the longitudinal direction along the carrier structure. The image data of the camera are fed to an image processing device set up for determining the position of the marking within the image field by means of an image detection. A deviation of the position of the marking from at least one target value is determined and quantified by means of a calculating device.
