Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2010088908A1] The present invention concerns a current measuring shunt and a method for measuring current or power, where the current measuring shunt is operating at a first electric potential and includes a first internal conductive pipe and a second external conducting pipe, wherein the first and the second pipes are arranged concentrically and joined at a common end plate. The purpose of the present invention is to perform measuring of electric values at a first voltage potential and to transmit measured values to a control system operating at another -voltage potential. This may be achieved if the first internal pipe includes a first electronics module that communicates with a second electronics module across a galvanic separation. Hereby may be achieved that an electronics circuit can be provided in the innermost pipe which is a largely field-free space. Measured values may be transmitted from the almost field-free space internally of the pipe through a galvanic separation to a second electronics module which may be included in larger control system for controlling and regulating an electric power system.
