Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2394783A1] The machine has a regulating wheel (20) laterally displaced toward a work-piece (30) that is held between the regulating wheel and a grinding wheel (10). The work-piece is arranged and dimensioned such that a rotational axis (A-30) of the work-piece and a rotational axis (A-10) of the grinding wheel lie in a common plane (P). Height adjustment (D) of a rotational axis (A-20) of the regulating wheel beyond the plane is kinematically decoupled from lateral displacement of the regulating wheel and varied to position the regulating wheel on the work-piece supported on a work-piece support (40). An independent claim is also included for a method for centerless sharpening of a work-piece between a grinding wheel and a regulating wheel.
