[origin: WO2010092306A1] The invention relates to an orthosis (10) including: a foot portion (12); a leg portion (14) applying a therapeutic compression textile pressure on the leg; and a rib-ended knitted end portion (16) locally applying a holding textile pressure for preventing any downward sliding of the end portion under the elastic return force (F) of the leg portion stretched in a longitudinal direction. The method includes obtaining data representative of: the morphological characteristics of the limb; rheological characteristics of the leg portion of the orthosis; friction characteristics at the interface between the limb and the leg portion of the orthosis; rheological characteristics of the end portion of the orthosis; and friction characteristics at the interface between the limb and the end portion of the orthosis. The following step comprises digitally simulating the action on the member of the leg portion and of the end portion of the orthosis, and delivering at least one indicator quantifying the hold of the orthosis on the limb.
