[origin: EP2397264A2] The device (10) has an energy-transfer element to transfer energy to a fastening element. A drive mechanism switches the element from a starting position to a setting position. The mechanism comprises an electric commutating motor. A motor control mechanism controls the motor, and a contact element electrically connects an electrical energy storage device i.e. accumulator (590), to the device. An electric line connects the motor with the control mechanism. Another electric line connects the contact element with the control mechanism, where the former line is longer than the latter line.
