Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010094766A1] The invention relates to a device for cutting the cornea of an eye to correct the refractive power thereof, having a ring body that can be suctioned onto the eye, an applanator (7) for corneal pressurization and having a knife (4), guided to the ring body in an axis-normal guide plane and mounted in front of the applanator (7), for cutting a pocket in the corneal tissue. In order not to influence the cutting depth and, consequently, the cutting accuracy upon penetration of the holder into the corneal pocket, according to the invention, the knife (4) is fastened to a knife receptacle (50) of a holder or frame such that the top side (51) of the knife receptacle (50) does not project over the top side (44) of the knife (4), at least within the penetration depth of the knife receptacle (50) into the cornea.
