Abstract (en)
The device has a coil assembly (3) including a superconductor winding (3.1) formed in a cryostat (3.2). A heatproof cup is surrounded by the coil assembly. The coil assembly produces a constant magnetic field passing transverse to a central axis of a crucible (1) and induces short circuit current along the central axis of the crucible during rotation of the crucible. A stamper is positioned above the crucible, which is lowered on the metal pieces in the crucible. The stamper is rotatably propelled in the direction of the crucible. The stamper is partly made of non-magnetic non-conductive material and non-magnetic electrically conductive material. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a device for melting metal pieces and metal powders.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Einschmelzen von Metallstücken (6) und/oder Metallpulvern in einem hitzebeständigen Tiegel (1), der von mindestens einer Spulenanordnung (3) umgeben ist, die ein Gleichmagnetfeld erzeugt, das überwiegend den Tiegel (1) quer zu dessen Mittelachse durchsetzt und das bei Drehung des Tiegels (1) um seine Mittelachse Kurzschlussströme induziert, hat einen im Vergleich zu nach diesem Prinzip arbeitenden, bekannten Vorrichtungen erheblich verbesserten Wirkungsgrad, wenn die Spulenanordnung (3) mindestens eine supraleitende Wicklung (3.1) in einem Kryostaten (3.2) umfasst und ein absenkbarer Stempel (7) gleichsinnig zu dem Tiegel (1) dreht.
