Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010097295A1] The invention relates to a valve drive for controlling gas exchange valves (4a, 4b) of an internal combustion engine, comprising at least one valve camshaft (1) that is supported within a cylinder head (5) of the internal combustion engine and that can be moved in rotation by means of a drive disk (6), wherein an adjustment device (7) comprising an adjustment motor (8) and a gear train (12) is provided, wherein the adjustment device provides for an axial movement and/or rotation of the at least one valve camshaft (1) relative to the drive disk (6) in a specific manner upon actuation of the adjustment motor (8) and by means of the intermediately connected gear train (12) in order to vary in a specific manner an actuation of the gas exchange valves (4a, 4b) that occurs by means of cams (2) of the at least one valve camshaft (1), wherein furthermore the adjustment motor (8) is placed predominantly or completely within a common chamber (9) with the drive disk (6).
