[origin: WO2010097503A1] An apparatus for controlling vibrations of a machine, the apparatus comprising at least: a measuring unit (1) for measuring vibrations, a pulse generating unit (3) for generating counter motions, the pulse generating unit comprising at least: a hydraulic actuator (5) and a device (6) for controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid. Furthermore, the apparatus comprises a control unit (2) for controlling the pulse generating unit on the basis of measurement data from the measuring unit. The actuator (5) is a chamber with solid walls, at least one of the walls being flexible and being configured to yield by the effect of pressure. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for controlling vibrations of a machine.
