[origin: WO2010097099A1] The invention relates to an electric component comprising an electric conductor, wherein inside the electric conductor a current path having a current flow direction is specified because of the ends of the electric conductor being connected to two electric connection points inside the electric component. The invention further relates to a method for producing an electric component having a conductor. By using a mixture made of carbon nanostructures having a preferred orientation with respect to the electric conductivity along the current flow direction, and a mixture made of nanostructures having a preferred orientation with respect to the thermal conductivity on at least one of the outside surfaces of the electric component, the electric component, in particular a transformer coil, can be produced in a more compact fashion, wherein at the same time sufficient thermal conductivity of the electric component is ensured.
