[origin: WO2010076150A1] The invention relates to a fastening arrangement (1) for fastening a sanitary fitting (2) to a work surface (3) having a top cover plate (4a) and a bottom cover plate (4b) spaced apart therefrom, having a fastening shaft (5) of the sanitary fitting (2) and having an adapter (6) that has an adapter sleeve (7) extending in the longitudinal direction (X). In order to create a fastening assembly (1) by means of which a sanitary fitting (2) can be stably fastened to a thick work surface, according to the invention the adapter sleeve (7) has a fastening section (7a) by means of which it can be connected to the fastening shaft (5) and a part of the adapter (6) has a fastening section (8a) by means of which it can be connected to the bottom cover plate (4b). The invention furthermore relates to a corresponding adapter (6).
