[origin: WO2010097101A1] The invention relates to a safety gate, in particular for children, comprising a frame (1) that can be positioned in a stationary manner and has a lower base (2) and two side parts (3, 4) extending upward from the base (2), and a door member (6) that is pivotably hinged about a pivot axis (S) on the frame (1), wherein a locking member (9) is disposed at either the frame (1) or door member (6) and a mating mount (10) is disposed at the other part, respectively, so that the locking member (9) and mating mount (10) cooperate in a closed position of the door member (6), wherein the door member (6) can be moved in the direction of the pivot axis (S) in order to unlock a positive blockage, wherein the movability of the door member (6) in the direction of the pivot axis (S) can be releasably locked by way of an actuatable latch member (11, 10b).
