[origin: EP2404716A1] The invention concerns an electrically powered hair-cutting appliance (1) having a shaver system (3) built onto the front face of a housing (2) and powered by an electric motor (125). A carrier body (9) accommodating at least one long-hair clipper (10, 11) is affixed to the back side (7) of the housing (2) in such a way that it can be slid lengthwise along the housing (9). This makes it possible to trim a beard using either the long-hair clipper (10) on its own or in conjunction with the shaver (3). The long-hair clipper (10) consists of at least two cutter elements (106, 107) that slide with respect to one another and are integrated into a cutter-head frame (98). The long-hair clipper (10) according to the present invention is mounted on a carrier body (9) in such a way that it can pivot about a pivot axis (25) to a predefined angle (±). This makes it possible to protect the skin and improve shaving results either while performing a trim and a shave using the shaver and the long-hair clipper or while trimming without shaving. At the same time, this will make the hair-cutting appliance (1) easier to handle when shaving.
