[origin: WO2010102749A1] In a method for purifying an air flow, wherein in an air flow containing impurities and odors a dielectrically impeded discharge is forced in order to generate a plasma before the air flow is subsequently guided through activated carbon (26) or a comparable filter material, the air flow is initially redirected in an inlet area and the flow velocity is subsequently reduced in order to force a separation of particle-shaped impurities which is caused by centrifugal forces.
