[origin: WO2010102676A1] The invention relates to a method and to a device for monitoring the presence of at least one guide rail (1) for a guided vehicle, wherein said device includes: a first detector (41) located downstream from a wheel (3), said detector (41) being capable of detecting the presence of said rail (1) and of transmitting a first signal (SA) relating to the presence of said rail to a monitoring member (5), characterised in that: a second detector (42) located upstream from said wheel can be connected in parallel to the first sensor (41) and is capable of detecting the presence of said rail (1); and said second detector (42) can communicate, to said monitoring member (5), a second signal (SB) relating to the presence of said rail.
