[origin: WO2010102965A1] The invention relates to a method and a circuit arrangement for monitoring the electrical properties of a load circuit (100) controlled in clocked fashion, wherein the load circuit has at least one resistive component and at least one inductive component, said method having the following steps of: determining at least one first control signal and one second control signal, wherein the control signals are determined in such a manner that the inductive behaviour of the load circuit (100) prevails when the load circuit (100) is driven with the first control signal and the resistive behaviour of the load circuit (100) prevails when the load circuit (100) is driven with the second control signal, detecting at least one respective measurement variable that is dependent on the control signal and on the resistive and/or inductive components when the load circuit (100) is driven with the first control signal and when the load circuit (100) is driven with the second control signal, determining the deviations of the measurement variables from the measurement variables expected on the basis of the nominal values of the inductive and resistive components, and classifying the state of the load circuit (100) using the deviations determined.
