Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2229979A1] The combination has a fixing unit defining positioning of the combination opposite to a treatment surface (160) of a patient. A cooling element (130) is attached between an irradiation element (120) i.e. LED module, and the treatment surface, and includes an optical pass-through surface that is cooled. The cooling element includes a deforming part applied to the treatment surface resulting in homogenization of radiation within the cooling element using a modified diverging effect on beam cross section of radiation. An independent claim is also included for a method for generating a homogenized radiation field in a cooled optimal passing surface with an irradiation-cooling combination.
