Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2010105895A1] The invention relates to a steam-heatable drying cylinder (1) for drying a material web, in particular a paper, cardboard, or tissue web, comprising an inner chamber having a lateral surface (1.1) and a device for increasing the heat transfer from the inner chamber to the lateral surface (1.1). The device (10) comprises a plurality of interfering strips (2), which are arranged in the circumferential direction, oriented axially and are in contact with the lateral surface (1.1), and at least one retaining ring (3) which has a tension element (4) and extends in the circumferential direction. The retaining ring (3) interacts with the tension element (4) such that a radial tension force of the at least one retaining ring (3) acting on the interfering strips (2) is generated. The interfering strips (2) are U-shaped, the open sides thereof pointing toward the lateral surface (1.1). The invention is characterized in that the at least one retaining ring (3) is interlocked with at least part of the interfering strips (2).
