[origin: EP2409778A1] The coating apparatus has a conveyor (22) for moving a workpiece (18) in a longitudinal direction (20), where the workpiece is fed through a suction chamber (10). An applying device e.g. slot nozzle, and a feed conduit (42), apply a coating medium i.e. paint, on a surface area (32) of the workpiece, and a blowing device (44) removes a part of the coating medium on coated surface areas (33). The blowing device has a nozzle formed as a slit nozzle for blowing air on the workpiece, where the blowing device is arranged within the suction chamber.
