[origin: EP2409784A2] The screening apparatus comprises individual screen roller (8) provided in a screening unit as a hollow shaft designed in different cross-sections. Elastic elements or fingers are arranged in a radially projecting manner around the circumference of the hollow shaft. The elastic elements or fingers move together with the spaced screen roller in a parallel manner. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a screen roller for a screening unit; and (2) a shredder for screening of decomposable material, particularly compost or recycled material for composting.
