The machine or device (1) has a swivel unit (107) with a cable gripping apparatus (107.1) arranged in a swivel arm (107.2), and a guide pipe (111) with an exit-sided end fastened to the swivel arm. A length compensating unit (120) is coupled to the guide pipe, and a cable drive (103) receives a cable (K) through the guide pipe. The swivel unit has a drive (107.3) for moving the swivel arm in swiveling movement or linear movement, where the movement changes length of the guide pipe when the compensating unit moves from one state to another state. An independent claim is also included for a method for guiding and processing a cable in a cable processing machine.

Kabelbearbeitungsmaschine oder -vorrichtung (1) mit einer Kabelzuführvorrichtung (100) zum Führen eines Kabels (K), wobei die Kabelbearbeitungsmaschine oder -vorrichtung (1) einen Kabelantrieb (103) zum Vorwärtsbewegen des Kabels (K) und einen Führungsschlauch (111) mit einer Eintrittsöffnung und einer Austrittsöffnung umfasst. Die Kabelbearbeitungsmaschine oder -vorrichtung (1) umfasst eine Schwenkeinheit (107) mit Antrieb (107.3) und einer an einem Schwenkarm (107.2) angeordneten Kabelklemmvorrichtung (107.1), wobei ein ausgangsseitiges Ende des Führungsschlauchs (111) an dem Schwenkarm (107.2) befestigt ist. Der Kabelantrieb (103) und der Führungsschlauch (111) sind so angeordnet, dass das Kabel (K) durch den Führungsschlauch (111) hindurch eingeschossen werden kann. Die Kabelzuführvorrichtung (100) umfasst weiterhin eine Längenausgleichseinheit (120), die im Bereich des Führungsschlauchs (111) angeordnet ist und die in einem ersten Zustand eine wirksame Länge des Führungsschlauchs (111) verkürzt und in einem zweiten Zustand die wirksame Länge des Führungsschlauchs (111) verlängert.
